"The first and only magazine dealing solely with amateur football." "The Amateur Footballer" was published by GT Publications of 217 Hampstaed Way and printed by Dramrite Printers of 51 Leroy Street London.

Managing Editor Gregory R Tesser.

20 pages.Monthly for 1/6.

Started December 1965.

Some background from Greg Tesser "I was editor/publisher of the 'The Amateur Footballer' - Dec 1965-1970 - when I had no choice but to cease publishing because in the late 1960s I became agent to several footballers including Peter Osgood, Charlie Cooke & Rodney Marsh and this, to put it mildly, kept me really busy!!The circulation of 'The Amateur Footballer' did at one time top 10,000.

I was aged just 19 when 'The Amateur Footballer' was first published and was PR Manager to 'The Yardbirds' & Georgie Fame at the time. I also launched "Penalty" magazine but that was a one off issue because I soon decided to switch my publishing interests to the amateur game."
